Understanding course conflict rules
Scrum Alliance attempts to limit the likelihood of a trainer being assigned to multiple courses that cannot be delivered by a single individual.
This applies to courses that are either In-Person or Live Online. This does not apply to Live Online + Self-Paced offerings.
When any single day has multiple offerings to which a trainer is assigned, the following rules are enforced:
- The sum of hours across an individual trainer's published courses is <18 hours in 24 hour period.
- Courses can be in any time zone.
- To verify this, course times are converted to UTC by the system and then checked to ensure there is no overlap in time.
- Note: Courses can be any combination of public or private, and of any type (CSM, CSPO, etc).
Scheduling Live-Online & Self-paced courses
If you were to post a Live-Online & Self-paced course taking place over a long period of time, it may cause conflicts with other courses that have already been scheduled during that timeframe. Scrum Alliance doesn't have a dedicated mechanism for neatly listing these types of courses at the moment.
Therefore, we suggest setting the course's duration to 16 hours over the course of 1 day. You can then describe the full agenda within your course description and website to ensure students are aware of the schedule. This setup will limit your Live-Online & Self-paced offering to just one day, helping eliminate any potential course conflict errors in the future.
