Scrum Alliance brings together educators, training organizations, universities, consultants, and technology platforms to help professionals and organizations thrive through change. If your organization is looking to expand its impact, strengthen workforce capabilities, or create meaningful learning experiences, there are different ways to partner with Scrum Alliance.
Become a Scrum Alliance Trainer
Applicants can start an application for one of two trainer designations, depending on their expertise and the specific courses they wish to teach:
Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®): Authorized to lead foundational scrum courses (Certified ScrumMaster, Certified Product Owner, and Certified Developer). Once approved, CSTs can also apply to teach advanced and professional-level courses.
Certified Scrum Alliance Trainer™ (CSAT™): A designation for trainers delivering specialized, non-CST courses. This includes the Certified Agile Leader® (CAL™), Certified Agile Facilitator™ (CAF™), and Certified Agile Scaling Practitioner™ (CASP™) tracks.
For more information, please see this page: Scrum Alliance Trainers
The Application Process
Earning a trainer certification requires passing a rigorous evaluation to ensure high-quality standards. The trainer certification process consists of an online application followed by a live evaluation:
Online Application & Fee: Candidates submit an application detailing their readiness and qualifications.
Prescreen: An initial review is conducted by a Scrum Alliance staff specialist.
Formal Review: The application is evaluated by the Trainer Approval Community (TAC)—a volunteer group of active, global CSTs and CSATs dedicated to upholding certification standards.
Training Skills Assessment (TSA): A live, practical evaluation of the candidate's training abilities.
Approval: Final certification is officially granted upon successful completion of the TSA.
Become a Licensed Training Partner
The LTP program validates training partners who meet global standards, allowing them to deliver authorized instructor-led and on-demand agile courses while expanding their global reach. The program offers three tiers tailored to different business models:
Professional: Streamlined for individual certified trainers focused on private delivery in local markets.
Business: For growth-oriented organizations delivering both public and private programs to broader audiences.
Enterprise: A strategic partnership for large organizations operating at scale that require advanced support.
