How to add a digital badge to LinkedIn

There are two ways to add your digital badge to your LinkedIn profile, depending on how you access your badge.

Option 1: Add Your Badge to LinkedIn via the BadgeCert Website

If you have a BadgeCert account, you can use the built-in integration to add your badge directly to LinkedIn. 

(You can register your BadgeCert account by following this process.)

Steps:

  1. Log in to your BadgeCert account.

  2. Click on the badge you’d like to share.

  3. Select Share.

  4. Click Add to Profile.

  5. On the next screen:

    • Click Get Started on the left side.

    • If prompted, log in to your LinkedIn account.

    • Authorize BadgeCert to add the badge to your profile.

    • Copy and paste any required badge details into LinkedIn if needed.

    • Click Save.

Your badge will appear in the Licenses & Certifications section of your LinkedIn profile. It will include the Scrum Alliance logo and a direct link to verify your badge.

⚠️ Be sure to disable any pop-up blockers before sharing your badge on LinkedIn, as they can interfere with the process.

Option 2: Manually Add Your Badge Using a URL

Use this method if you only have the badge URL or are not accessing your badge through the BadgeCert site or email button.

Steps:

  1. Log in to LinkedIn and click the Me icon at the top of the homepage.

  2. Select View Profile.

  3. If you've already added certifications:

    • Scroll down to the Licenses & Certifications section.

    • Click the + Add button.

  4. If you've never added a certification:

    • Click Add profile section on your profile.

    • Expand the Accomplishments section by clicking the arrow icon.

    • Click + Add next to Certifications.

Enter the following information:

  • Name: Enter the name of your certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster®).

  • Issuing Organization: Type and select Scrum Alliance from the dropdown (this ensures our logo displays).

  • Issue Date / Expiration Date: Use the information provided in your BadgeCert account or badge email.

  • Credential URL: Paste the URL link to your digital badge from BadgeCert.

Click Save to complete the process.
