No, microcredentials are self-contained learning experiences that stand on their own and will not renew your previously earned certifications. However, they're eligible for Scrum Education Units® (or SEUs®) that can be used toward your certification renewal.
You can renew your certifications by earning the required number of SEUs and paying the renewal fee or by taking another Scrum Alliance® certification course. After completion of the course and earning the certification, your previous certifications will be extended to the expiration date of your newly earned certification.
Taking a microcredential course grants a two-year membership with Scrum Alliance—for active members and nonmembers alike.
