Those who aspire to earn a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from Scrum Alliance® are required to take an either an in-person, two-day 16-hour CSM course or a live-online 14-16-hour CSM course with one of our Certified Scrum Trainers® (CSTs®). Upon successfully completing the training, you will have an account created for you on our website where you will be able to access the online test.
Although we acknowledge and respect that individuals may have prior experience with the scrum framework or received training from a different scrum-certifying body, the CSM test is not intended to be a substitute for formal training from Scrum Alliance. Those who earn the CSM designation demonstrate a clear understanding of the CSM learning objectives covered in the class.
Please note that all approved courses that lead to CSM certification are found on our Course Search page; they must be taught by a Scrum Alliance CST. If you found a CSM class through a third-party provider, please ensure it is listed on our Course Search page or contact support@scrumalliance.org to ensure its validity toward Scrum Alliance's CSM certification.
